Who We Are
About
Teso cooperative Union came into being after the Government had responded to the demands of the Cooperative Associations to process their cotton and entrusted them with some cotton ginneries after the cotton ordinance act of 1952.
The amendment of the above ordinance pre-empted formation of 41 primary societies in Teso and other parts of Uganda, of which Abeko FCS was among the first in Teso. These societies then pooled their resources together and formed a secondary society called Iteso Cooperative Union (TCU) limited and could acquire ginneries and gin their cotton in 1953.
